We received some really bad news regarding our adoption today and I am super bummed about it.
The Ethiopian Federal Court announced that, effective today, all adoptive families have to appear in court in Ethiopia to testify to their desire and commitment to adopt their child. Both parents must be there. This court date will take place 1-2 months after we are matched with our child. While we are there, we will meet our child and then HAVE TO LEAVE HIM for another 2-3 MONTHS while all the paperwork is finalized. This seems unbearable to me.
This will require us to travel to Ethiopia twice. That means we will have to leave Caedmon twice (with whom, I don't know) AND we will incur about $6,000 more in traveling expenses.
I'm so sad right now...I'm going to stop typing now and spend some time in prayer.

I'll definitely be praying for you guys..Hang in there.
Stacie...
I feel kinda of odd typing this...You don't know me but I am friends with Mandy Santos (I grew up at Northwood Assembly too) which is how I came upon your blog.
I can see your heart in your writing. I know that whatever little man joins your family he will always know love. Try looking at this as a labor that all of a sudden things change and you have to get a c-section. God will provide. He will see you through.
Praying for you.
